#5. The large clump is placed on a sheet of plastic for breaking into individual divisions and root systems. #6. After removal of some soil, it is easy to see where the individual divisions are. Note the massive root system!
#7. An individual division is removed from the clump and displayed. Note the large root system. #8. This picture is not super clear. However, you can see the purple dormant bud eyes next to the two fingers. These buds will develop into new divisions next year.
#9. Jeff wraps the division of hostas in newspapers and soaks the newspaper and plant. He will then place theplant in a plastic bag, seal it with a rubber band, and add a plastic garden label before placing in the U.S. Postal Service carton for shipping. #10. Jeff and Whitey display the Lady Isobel plant wrapped in wet newspaper, protected with a plastic bag and rubber band, including the plant label and the U. S. Postal Service shipping carton. The carton will be labeled, the packing list will be included, and the carton will be shipped! You will receive your hostas within 2 to 3 days of shipping.
