More Hostas for Sale!

Approximately 350 varieties of hostas have been added to our web site

These hostas are shipped "bare root" (they are divisions off of mature hostas).   Most of these hostas are from 4 to 10 years old, and are from my personal collection.

My personal collection from my gardens in addition to Best Value TC and 3" Pots will be on sale at my home in 1 to 3 weeks.

I will be announcing dates and times for the sale from my home.  I need to get caught up on a few things first.  Sometimes it helps to see the hosta at maturity.   If nothing else you can tour my gardens and say hello.  We will have workers literally dig many of the hostas for you on site.   Our loyal customers and e-mail readers will have loyalty returned.  The first day of the sale will be reserved for YOU and not announced to the public!

Discounted hostas.

This year only a very limited number of hostas will be discounted.   Last year we had a "blow out sale" as we were moving locations at years end.   So you can plan accordingly, in general, we don't foresee having blow out sales in the future.  The plants keep nicely over winter.

Improvements to our Site

Thanks to some valuable feedback from our customers, we have made some improvements recently to our web site:

Hosta Humor can now be posted and read on our web site HERE!  Folks, if we can't laugh at ourselves....... Let's face it, this love for hostas can be overwhelming!   Let's have a few laughs!   Poetry and cartoons are also welcome.   We all need to respect copy rights.

Our Best Value TC product line:  Immediately below where you order Best Value TC for each hosta we have added a link "Learn more about our Best Value TC Hostas."  This link takes you to our 33 slide Power Point "Our Hostas" presentation on our front page, explaining in more detail the maturity of these hostas.  Best Value TC allows you to save big money by swapping time for your money.  Many people would rather have there money.  You can also further enjoy the growing process.

Past E-Mails:

We have posted past emails for your review on our home page HERE, underneath "join mailing list"

Change in our database's output:  In our database, where a particular characteristic for a hosta is not relevant, we will be adding "no" as soon as we have time.

Additional Information

Shipping method change:  Since the change three weeks ago in our shipping method to taping in our plants, labels and soil, we have not had one complaint.

Drive through my neighborhood:

Please respect my neighbors and myself by not driving through my neighborhood until the dates of the sale.  As some of you know that visit our retail location, I give most customers permission to tour my garden but the drive throughs can become a problem.  Thanks very much!

Running out of some hostas:

Our growers and us have run out of some hostas and are running out of some others fairly fast.

With so many good things happening at HostasDirect, there will be some more e-mails coming over the next few weeks.

Closing Remarks

On behalf of all of our workers and me, we sincerely thank you for your business.  We all know there would be no HostasDirect without you.  We try to make your experience efficient, fun and educational.  At the same time we want to provide you the best information and photos so that you can make your best decisions.   Our selling Best Value TC disease-free plants sizes, 3" inch pots and bare-root hostas and excellent pricing will hopefully allow you to get the most for your money.

If you are not happy, please tell us first so we can fix the problem.   If you are happy, please tell your friendsWe try very hard to offer great value and service.  We have been under-staffed a few times this spring and experienced a couple of software problems that created some hardship that are now fixed.   Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Your calls and e-mails are always welcome.   You can call me 7 days a week direct on my cell at 651-398-8958 or the business line is 651-204-9922.  Obviously, there will be times I can't take your calls but I will get back to you.  Please leave your phone number speaking slowly!

Until next time, enjoy growing!

Sincerely,

Tom Carlson - President
